A community effort, intent on creating ARTFUL space on the East side of Cleveland.

ARTFUL has a new home!!

We’re absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with you—ARTFUL is now the proud owner of the former St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights!

This architecturally distinctive building, nestled between the Coventry and Cedar Fairmount districts, is officially ours—and will serve as ARTFUL’s permanent home for years to come. Over the next several weeks, we’ll begin moving in and thoughtfully transforming the space into a welcoming, dynamic center for artists to work, connect, and thrive.

Be sure to sign up for our emails and follow us on social media for the latest developments.

Our DD Adult Art Workshops are underway.

As we prepare for a bright future in our new location, here’s a look back on our special time spent at the former Coventry Elementary School.

A Heartfelt Thank You for an Unforgettable Lantern Festival

In December we celebrated the Lantern Festival, marking the final event at our beloved studios in the Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Building. It was a joyous celebration of light, art, and community, held in partnership with the Coventry Village business district. Throughout the day, community members of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds participated in free lantern-making workshops—generously led by ARTFUL artists and board members, including Jacqui Brown, Natalie Isvarin Love, and more. We are especially grateful to ARTFUL artist Robin VanLear, whose Art Acts Performers brought the Lantern Procession to life with dancing, giant puppets, enchanting costumes, and live drummers filling the streets with rhythm and energy.

For those who couldn’t attend—or if you’d like to relive the magic—enjoy this video of the event.

As we look ahead, we hope to continue this cherished event, along with other ARTFUL programs, in 2025. Once we  settle in at our new location, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on what’s next (be sure to join our email list). Thank you for your continued support—we can’t wait to create more art-filled moments together!

We were honored to be featured in January on the Gather Well Cleveland Heights Podcast! ARTFUL’s Co-founder & Board President, Brady Dindia, joined Julie and Eric to chat about the incredible community events we hosted at the end of 2024, including Halloween P.E.A.C.E. Pops and the Lantern Festival. She also shared important updates on what’s next for ARTFUL and our fellow organizations as we prepare to vacate the P.E.A.C.E. Building by January 31st.

We have queued this link to begin at Brady’s interview (around the 35:00 minute mark), but the hosts provide wonderful community gathering information leading up to the interview.

We’d like to convey our gratitude to the Gather Well Cleveland Heights team for inviting us to participate in their first podcast of 2025. This grassroots effort is a wonderful resource for our community.

ARTFUL is so excited to share that our Executive Director, Shannon Morris, is the 2024 recipient of The Cleveland Arts Prize Robert P. Bergman Prize!! This is an incredible honor and now brings ARTFUL’s total to 3 Cleveland Arts Prize winners. Congratulations Shannon – we are all SO very proud of you and the work you do on a daily basis on behalf of the artists we serve.

The Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Building is the former Coventry Elementary School, and is now home to multiple local nonprofits. We work hand-in-hand with these organizations on programming and special events. Many of our artists have either partnered, or utilized their services. P.E.A.C.E. stands for “People Enhancing A Community’s Environment”. Together with our neighbors in the building, we offer wonderful opportunities for our artists and local community members to continue to create, show, learn and grow.
