PEACE Pops is a quarterly celebration of art and community. The last Friday of January, April, July and October, we invite the community into our building to tour open studios, listen to live music, participate in hands-on art making and a variety of other activities to keep your creative spirit flourishing. It is a special way in which we can connect our community with our member organizations and artists – like Lake Erie Ink, ARTFUL, Singers’ Club of Cleveland, Robin VanLear & more!
This event is free and open to the public. Free and paid snacks and refreshments will be available.
Details for our October PEACE Pops will be coming soon, but here's a look at what our last PEACE Pops featured:
ARTFUL Open Studios
The ARTFUL artists invite you to visit their studios in order to engage with them and view both finished pieces and works in progress. Get to know the artists working here in your community, discover new talents and find inspiration.
Lake Erie Ink Outdoor Poetry Open Mic
Perform your poetry, prose or songs, or write one while you’re with us. All are invited to listen, and no registration is required. Just show up, and get inspired.
Zine/Comic Making with Od from Lake Erie Ink
Jarod “Od” Perry-Richardson is a Creative Teaching Artist at Lake Erie Ink. Beginning his time at LEI as a volunteer, Od eventually joined the LEI family as a teacher. As a graduate at the Cleveland Institute of Art Od brings his artistic experience and love of the arts to the table. When he isn’t busy teaching or drawing, Od can be found at one of Cleveland’s many concert venues. He believes that visual arts and creative writing are invaluable expressive outlets for which the youth can channel their creativity and let it burst out in all directions.
Live Music with No Bad Daze (reggae band)
Enjoy the rhythmic reggae sounds of No Bad Daze while you stroll the open studios, take in the art of the Juneteenth exhibit or while you work on your Zines/Comics.
Featured Vendor = The Yummy Cart
Nothing says summer quite like a traditional hot dog cart! Want a substantial bite to eat while you work on your creations, or while you take in all the art and performances at PEACE Pops? Then support our featured vendor by purchasing food, snacks or bevrages from the Yummy Cart.
ARTFUL Juneteenth Art Show Closing Reception
This show features a mix of established and emerging black artists in the Cleveland area curated by ARTFUL artist LaSaundra Robinson.
