This Art is for the Birds is a comedy parable to help us all learn to save our planet!
Led by Robin VanLear (creator of Parade the Circle), community members of all ages who participated in summer camps and workshops will perform this original work in the Coventry PEACE Park. For these workshops and camps, Robin was joined by area artists: Story Rhinehart Cadiz, Eric Coble, Raja Freeman, Marlon Hatcher & Diane Sette. All costumes and scenery have been created by hand by the participants in these summer series.

Summer Camps & Workshops
YOUTH SUMMER CAMPS
For ages 10-12
We invite you to join us for a series of 1/2-day summer camps where you can write, create masks, costumes and props and be part of creating the first original community Theatre work for our very own PEACE Park.

Max spaces 6 per session ages 10 – 12
Sessions meet 9am to noon
Week 1: June 12 -16
Join a flock and create your mask/costume
Week 2: June 20 – 23
Help write commentary for our Greek Chorus
Week 3: June 26 – 30
Join a flock and create your mask/costume
Week 4: July 10 – 14
Join a flock and create your own mask/costume
Week 5: July 17 – 21
Participants in week 1, 2. 3, 4 – finish masks & make props
Rehearsals: July 17 – 21
Monday & Tuesday – 6 to 8:30 pm – 1 night each flock
Thursday – movement all flocks – 6:00 – 8:30 PM
Friday – open dress rehearsal – arrive 6pm – rehearse – 7:00 – 8:30 pm
PERFORMANCES: Saturday, July 22 – 7pm & Sunday, July 23 – 4pm
Camp tuition: $150/week for 1/2 day camps except week 5
- Week 5 is FREE for individuals who have participated in week 1, 2, 3 or 4
- Tuition assistance available

FAMILY & ADULT WORKSHOPS
Family Workshops
We invite you to join us for a series of family workshops where you can create masks, costumes and props and be part of creating the first original community Theatre work for our very own PEACE Park.

Family workshops are geared for one or two parents to attend with a child ages 6 and up.
Families should expect to spend minimum 4 workshops to finish their bird masks/costumes.
Family Workshops meet 1 to 3:30 pm
