Sunday, Oct. 15
12-5 pm
We’re excited to again be part of the annual University Heights Fall Festival. ARTFUL will be leading several different events at this year’s festivities.
This Art is for the Birds Perfomance
This Art is for the Birds is a comedy parable to help us all learn to save our planet! Led by Robin VanLear (creator of Parade the Circle), community members of all ages who participated in summer camps and workshops first performed this piece this past summer at Coventry PEACE Park and will now make their second debut at the University Heights Fall Festival in Walter Stinson Park. For these workshops and camps, Robin was joined by area artists: Story Rhinehart Cadiz, Eric Coble, Raja Freeman, Marlon Hatcher & Diane Sette. All costumes, scenery have been created by hand by the participants in these summer series. Join your friends and neighbors for a truly unique community theatre experience. The show will begin at 12:00 pm.
Chalk Festival
Come try your hand at chalk drawings! Free chalk to use and professional guidance available. Observe professional artists creating street art (chalk drawings), and join them for hands-on demonstrations throughout the day. The City of University Heights will be providing free chalk for you to use to create your own street art on the paths in the park. For those who are unable to draw on the ground, ARTFUL can provide you with a board on which you can create your piece. The Chalk Festival booth will be open beginning around 1:00 pm.
